Paralyzed Patients ‘Walk Again’ In Duke University Project

This machine is restoring movement to paralyzed patients. Patients use a helmet to convert brain activity into electrical signals which control an exoskeleton. The eight patients who all experienced spinal cord injuries trained intensively using VR and the exoskeletons and unexpectedly regained voluntary control and sensitivity in their legs. The study was part of Duke University’s ‘Walk Again’ project.
