Trayvon Martin was a teenager from Miami Gardens, Florida, who was shot to death in February of 2012 at the age of 17 by George Zimmerman. Martin had been walking to his father’s fiancee’s house when neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman grew suspicious of his activity. After an altercation, Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin.
