The digital distribution gaming platform produced by the Valve company is commonly known as Steam. Over 6,400 games are currently available on Steam, and the parent company, Valve, has made billions in sales. Founded in 2003, Steam officially joined iOS and Android in January of 2012. Steam was previously built to be compatible with Windows, Linux, and OS but made headlines by developing their own SteamBox, which was due to be released in 2015. In 2009, 70 percent of the digital distribution video games market was dominated by Steam. An area of criticism for Steam in the past was the quality of their customer service providers.
