Minnesota vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are a team in the National Football League (NFL). Founded in 1961, the Vikings won their first and only NFL championship with a 27-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns in January of 1970. However, this would be the final NFL championship prior to the NFL-AFL merger that created the league fans know today. The Vikings would lose Super Bowl IV to the Kansas City Chiefs one week later in a 23-7 rout. They went back to the Super Bowl three additional times throughout the 1970s, losing to the Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Oakland Raiders. The Vikings have 27 playoff appearances in all and have placed 16 players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
