The Miami Heat are an NBA franchise formed in 1988 as part of a league expansion. Despite its short life when compared to other franchises, the Heat have found a great deal of success, including three titles. The Heat were famous for their physical and intimidating teams of the 1990s, including a rivalry with the New York Knicks that often turned heated. The Lakers drafted Dwyane Wade in 2003, and the dynamic guard helped lead the Heat to three titles. The Heat were one of the best NBA teams of recent years. In 2010, star LeBron James decided to join his friends Wade and Chris Bosh, creating a super-team that won two titles and went to the NBA Finals two other times.
