Joseph Robinette “Joe” Biden Jr. was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1942. He is the current vice president of the United States under President Barack Obama. Biden grew up as an excellent athlete, playing halfback/wide receiver on his school’s football team. He then attended the University of Delaware, where he continued to play football.
Biden went to law school at Syracuse and insisted he wanted to be a senator by the age of 30. Although there were accusations of plagiarism and drinking throughout his law school career, his fiancee’s parents finally gave their permission, and he married Neilla Hunter, who would be his wife until her death. Biden served the state of Delaware and has gone on to run for president several times, and was finally chosen by Barack Obama to be his running mate. Biden lost his son Beau in 2015.
