A central figure in the Christian faith, Jesus is also a part of Islam. Born in the Middle East approximately 2,000 years ago, Jesus is considered by Christians to be the Son of God. More than any other figure in the Bible, Jesus is considered to be the final authority. Historians believe that Jesus was a Jewish man who lived in the area now known as Palestine, Jordan, or Israel. Christmas is observed as the birthday of Jesus, and Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is celebrated each year on Easter. In Catholicism, Jesus shares equal power with God and also the Holy Ghost.
