Harrison Ford was an obscure actor out of work when an ambitious director by the name of George Lucas asked him to help with the auditions for a new space movie called Star Wars in the late 1970s. Ford, who was working as a carpenter at the time, was so good with the readings that Lucas went against his own desires to cast an unknown in the main roles of his flick and Ford landed the role of a lifetime. Ford starred as the handsome, but unprincipled smuggler Han Solo and hasn’t looked back since. He went on to have an extremely successful career and reprised the role that started it all in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
