Born Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson in April of 1990 in Paris, France, of English parents, Watson lived in France until the age of 5, when she moved with her mother to Oxfordshire. She had done some theater when she was selected to play Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.

While on set for Harry Potter, Watson excelled at her academic work, achieving all As on her qualifying exams. She was accepted to and attends Brown University in Rhode Island. Watson has gone on to star in other movies like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring. Watson also has become an activist, speaking out on international women’s rights.
