David Letterman, born in 1947, has been a performer since he started working at the Indiana University student radio station around 1965. After college, David Letterman started doing stand-up comedy and working as a TV weatherman in Indianapolis in 1971. NBC’s Late Night With David Letterman began in 1983 and did not end until 2015. David Letterman is spending his retirement in the news and Late Night remains popular due to his replacement, Stephen Colbert. David Letterman’s post-retirement plans include talking about climate change, traveling in India for a reality TV show called Years of Living Dangerously, doing low-priced stand-up with college comedy improv groups, and race car driving.
