CBS is an American broadcasting company known formally as the Columbia Broadcasting System. The company got its start as a collection of radio stations and grew into one of the largest broadcast networks in the country. As the company shifted into television it brought a number of culturally significant programs to the air, including M*A*S*H, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and All in the Family. After suffering a dip in ratings that lasted more than two decades, CBS regained its place as the top-rated overall network in the early 2000s thanks to several popular shows, including CSI, Two and a Half Men, and The Big Bang Theory.
