Blake Shelton was born in June 1976 in Ada, Oklahoma to a beauty salon owner and a used car dealer. He started singing at an early age and was taught guitar by his uncle. Shelton wrote his first song at age 15.
Shelton went to Nashville to launch his career and was signed with Giant Records in 2001. When Giant went out of business, Shelton went over to its parent company, Warner Brothers. From there, Shelton went on to have a series of gold and platinum records. He is currently known as a winning judge/coach on the NBC show The Voice. In the summer of 2015, he divorced his wife, country singer Miranda Lambert.
