Arizona was the 48th state to be admitted to the United States, and the last of the contiguous states to be added to the union. The southwestern state is home to both the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. Arizona is a popular ecotourism destination, with the Red Rock State Park and the Sonoran Desert being among the most frequently visited outdoor attractions.

The Arizona state motto is “God enriches.” It is known as both the Grand Canyon State and the Copper State. Arizona is the fifth largest state in America and is one of the “Four Corners” states. Phoenix is both the capital and largest metropolitan area in the state. Approximately one-fourth of the state is comprised of Indian reservations.
