Dr. Oz seems to be the go-to guy these days when people want to talk about their medical dramas. Charlie Sheen, Big Ang, and now Shannen Doherty have gone on The Dr. Oz Show to discuss their life and death medical situations. Doherty is struggling with breast cancer and is facing life-changing surgery.
According to the Inquisitr , Shannen Doherty , formerly of Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed , came forward to say that her breast cancer was further along than it should have been, because her business manager had messed up and missed a payment for Doherty’s health insurance. It is now the subject of a lawsuit and is the source of anger for Doherty during a time that should be about recovery and survival.

People Magazine is reporting that Shannen Doherty opened up to Dr. Oz about her fears about leaving loved ones behind.
“You worry most about the people that you love and making sure that they are going to be okay. For me, that was the hardest part,” she told Dr. Mehmet Oz, tearing up.
Shannen Doherty explained that she delayed going to the doctor when she found a lump due to the insurance screw up, and because of that delay, her cancer spread.
“You have no idea what that extra time might have afforded you,” she said. “Mine for instance spread to a lymph node or two. It might not have spread… The most important thing is catching it as early as humanly possible.”

This diagnosis has changed the path for Doherty and her husband, Kurt Iswarienko.
“I’m 44 and my husband and I wanted children,” she said, adding that because of the treatment, the couple is more likely to adopt than have biological children.
And Doherty is explaining that she is doing everything possible to be healthy for the fight ahead.
“I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life,” she said at the time. “I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.”

Perez Hilton revealed that Shannen Doherty discussed with Dr. Oz that she has not yet decided whether or not to have a double mastectomy. The actress, who has breast implants, did not discuss how breast implants might have played a role in her current medical situation.
“I haven’t. It’s between two of them and at the end of the day it will be up to my doctor and it could change the last minute. I’m actually going to a center, just to sort of get their general opinion and then I head back to LA and instantly go in with my doctors. You know, I’m like ‘You guys make the final decision. What would you do if it was your wife? What would you do if it was your daughter?’ Ultimately, they’re just breasts right? I mean I love them, they’re mine, they’re beautiful, but in the grand scheme of things, they’re just not, I would rather be alive and I would rather grow old with my husband.”

Doherty was surprisingly candid with Dr. Oz. She discuss the lymph involvement and how a lump spread and became a serious medical situation that might have been manageable if treated when the alarm first sounded.
