Are Paula Patton’s texts to Robin Thicke being put on blast for the public? They might be. Thicke’s new music video “Get Her Back” off of his upcoming album Paula , that was made with the intention to win his wife back, has revealed clues to what broke up their decades-long union, which included 9 years of marriage.

In the apologetic video “Get Her Back” Robin Thicke is seen with a woman that somewhat resembles Paula Patton. A huge departure from his cocky “Blurred Lines” posture, Robin is more raw and emotional as he puts his love and relationship with Paula Patton on display for his fans in an effort to win back his love.

In case his fans can’t figure out what the song is about, the crooner made sure that the message is heard loud and clear. Lyrics are displayed in text message bubbles between a quarreling couple. Of course this is when the interesting part comes in as Thicke hints it was his drinking that was part of the reason behind Paula Patton leaving him.

In the messages the Paula Patton character is very open and honest about her problems with Thicke. Although we aren’t aware which texts the Paula Patton-esque character is sending it’s safe to assume from the open correspondence. “You drink too much,” types one character (Patton), continuing, “You embarrassed me. You ruined everything.”

The second character responds with another text , “I hate myself.”

Another hint that Thicke’s alcohol abuse and misconduct lead to the split. At one point Robin even refers to his current state of mind to win Paula back, by naming the album after her. The text message reads, “I wrote a whole album about you.” The Paula Patton-esque character responds succinctly with, “I don’t care.”

Text message Robin much like Thicke in real life is persistent and sends one last message, “This is just the beginning.”

The only thing Paula Patton has publicly said in response to her split from her husband is a short statement to Vanity Fair .

“We’ve known each other since we were teenagers All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there—always was, and always will be. He wasn’t my first kiss, but he was my first lots of other things.”

We haven’t heard much from Patton since Robin Thicke has started his “Get Her Back” publicity tour. Something tells us she has a lot to say but we won’t hear anything on her end anytime soon.
