When the first trailer dropped for 'Ant-Man and the Wasp,' Disney fans noticed something.

Early on Tuesday morning, the first trailer dropped for Ant-Man and the Wasp, much to the delight of Marvel fans everywhere. However, Disney fans took notice as well. The trailer for the sequel is something that fans have wanted for a long time, and Marvel Studios finally delivered, but it seems they included a little something extra. It could just be a coincidence, but it could also be that they decided to throw in a nod to Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

As reported by Superherohype, the trailer (embedded below) was released on Tuesday morning, and it details the next chapter in the story of shrinking superheroes. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit theaters on July 6, and the trailer really does bring about some awesome action and hilarious lines.

Many may know this, but Marvel is owned by the Walt Disney Company, and collaborations are not unexpected. It really isn’t unusual for Marvel Studios to throw in Disney references here and there throughout their films, but this one may or may not have been intentional.

While the focus is on the action in the trailer, the alert ears of Disney fans may have thought they heard something familiar. Well, it certainly does seem that way as the new theme music for Ant-Man and the Wasp sounds an awful lot like “Grim Grinning Ghosts” from the Haunted Mansion.

Just watch the trailer and listen to the theme song.

The trailer looks awesome, but the theme music sounds awfully familiar to those who are hardcore Disney fans. It does sound incredibly like the tune to “Grim Grinning Ghosts” from the Haunted Mansion attractions and the Haunted Mansion movie, but is it?

Well, for one thing, the new villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp is a character named Ghost, so there is that connection.

You can hear the tune right away if you’re a fan of the ride, but some may not be. If you’re not familiar with it, you hear it easily when listening to the soundtrack from the Haunted Mansion.

It wouldn’t be the first time that a Marvel movie has had a Disney reference in it. In the first Ant-Man, Luis is whistling the theme to “it’s a small world.” In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the villain uses lyrics from “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinocchio to detail his plans. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Yondu refers to himself as Mary Poppins.

When looking around on social media, there are actually a number of people who feel as if the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp was honoring the Haunted Mansion.

So, there are a number of people out there who heard the Haunted Mansion music as well, but it appears as if that wasn’t actually the case. A Twitter user by the name of Gary Vegas tweeted back to Eric Vespe with a video of “Ants Invasion” by Adam & the Ants, and the mystery was solved.

So, the song used in the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer is from the appropriately named Adam & the Ants, but their song was released in November of 1980. “Grim Grinning Ghosts” from the Haunted Mansion was composed by Buddy Baker with lyrics from X Atencio in the late ’60s.

The trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is incredibly awesome, and it was well worth the wait. While the theme song for the duo is from Adam & the Ants, it’s hard to not see the similarity between “Ants Invasion” and “Grim Grinning Ghosts” from the Haunted Mansion. Even if there is no direct connection, Disney fans hear it and will always think of it in that way when the music plays.
