Porn Star Had Right Idea – Trump, Congress In Need Of A Good Spanking [Opinion]

There are some things you really do not want to know about your president and some pictures that cannot be taken back once they have settled into your mind.

Such is the case with the revelation in Mother Jones that porn star Stormy Daniels spanked Donald Trump with a copy of Forbes Magazine in 2006.

Has any other American president come close to that kind of behavior? It is hard to imagine Dwight D. Eisenhower coming out of the Oval Office and saying, “Get Mamie over here and tell her to bring a magazine.”

You could make a case that Warren G. Harding deserved to be swatted across his Teapot Dome, but other than that, Trump’s supposedly requested corporal punishment appears to be a presidential first.

The Mother Jones article never describes why Trump felt he needed to be punished and considering everything we have learned about the president in the past year, perhaps it is better that we do not know.

The alleged spanking took place around the same time Trump was telling Billy Bush of Access Hollywood his approach to the art of the feel. Now that kind of behavior certainly deserves some kind of punishment.

The decision to use Forbes Magazine was understandable. Supposedly, it was used because it had a photo of Trump, his son Donald Jr., and daughter Ivanka on the cover. While that makes sense in a perverse sort of way, it should also be noted that Forbes is a sturdy publication. Have you ever tried to spank someone with the failing New York Times?

It has been 12 years since that spanking, if it did occur, took place. While the Trump presidency has not been affected by any current sex scandals, just outbreaks of purported past liaisons, the president’s behavior over the past couple of weeks indicates he may be in need of an intervention.

Just his daily tweet storms would probably be enough to bring on some sort of punishment, but the president has not been content to restrict himself to that kind of misbehavior.

Ten days ago, Trump brought members of Congress from both parties into the White House and told them he would sign any deal they came up with on DACA.

When Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, returned the following day with the kind of deal Trump said he would sign, they found themselves greeted with the kind of language that would have made even Harry Truman blush.

Whether it was s—hole or s—house, it certainly was not any way to refer to African countries or Haiti. You don’t even call a Trump Tower names like that.

When it came time earlier today for the president to prevent the government from shutting down, he had a chance, we learned earlier tonight from Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York, to get everything he has wanted since the beginning of his presidential campaign.

Schumer admitted that in exchange for fixing the DACA problem, he had agreed to give the president the wall, as CNBC reported.

Trump wouldn’t even have had to send a bill to Mexico.

It did not happen.

The government has shut down. Schumer laid the blame on Trump and the Republicans. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, blamed it on Schumer and the Democrats.

Trump says he will not negotiate anything while the government is shut down, which makes it difficult to negotiate it to the point where it can reopen.

From all appearances, though, Trump may not be the only one in need of a timeout.

Maybe it is time for Stormy Daniels to grab a stack of Forbes magazines and get back to work.
