Nicki Minaj Wig Lawsuit: Judge Throws Out Hairstylist’s Case

Nicki Minaj, the reigning queen of the jiggling backside, has emerged victorious in a lawsuit filed by one of her former collaborators.

For those who aren’t well-versed in the ways of Minaj’s various business ventures, the rapper recently decided to launch a line of wigs inspired by her outrageous headpieces. Unfortunately for hairdresser Terrence Davidson, the guy who reportedly helped her design the wigs, he felt the rapper and her handlers were trying to profit from his unique creations. It’s easy to see where this is going.

Agitated, angry, and nursing a bucket of hurt feelings, Davidson filed a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj and Pink Personality LLC in hopes of collecting a huge paycheck. The Inquisitr previously reported that Terrence wanted to collect $30 million from the rapper for what he feels is fair compensation for all his hard work.

According to The Guardian , a judge decided Davidson didn’t have much of a case against Nicki Minaj. Although the hairstylist believes the rapper and Pink Personality LLC kicked him to the curb when it came time to film a reality series and launch a line of wigs, apparently his lawsuit didn’t have a lot of legal meat on the bone.

ABC News reports that Terrence was just bitter because he “lost his most famous client” after a falling out. Instead of licking his wounds and moving on, he tried to squeeze some cash out of Minaj that “he didn’t earn.” A judge believed the parties didn’t have a very definitive gameplan, a fact that ultimately sunk Davidson’s case against Nicki.

“The judge also wrote that Davidson claims his wigs are distinctive because of their design and color and that there’s no evidence that he made any attempt to connect them to himself in the public mind or that anyone was confusing the wigs sold by him with wigs sold by Minaj.”

Earlier this year, Davidson’s lawyer, Christopher Chestnut, said he felt Nicki Minaj was simply trying to benefit from his client’s creations. As a result, Chestnut told the folks over at CNN that the rapper should cough up some cash .

“Nicki Minaj is reaping great success and financial bounty reward for Terrence’s creative expertise, and he is entitled to participate in that. Someone’s got to stand up for the artist. We applaud the fact that she’s making millions, but she’s also got to pay bounty to those whose creative designs she’s making millions off of.”

Are you surprised a judge dismissed the wig lawsuit against Nicki Minaj ?
