Amongst the new video game releases for the week of March 22, 2015, you will find one of the most eclectic gatherings of new games so far in 2015. Claptrap makes the jump to next-gen, PlayStation gets some classic titles, and one of the most beloved series gains a spiritual successor with Bloodborne for the PlayStation 4.

Bloodborne is the one of the most eagerly anticipated new video games for owners of Sony’s PlayStation 4 console. Gamers who entered the mist of lost Boletaria in Demon’s Souls in 2009 found one of the most punishing games ever made, that rewards quick reflexes and the tenacity to fight on through the punishing fighting mechanics. The game was followed by two very successful sequels, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, which saw release on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The same studio is now bringing the game into the new generation with Bloodborne, which looks to retain the brutality of its predecessors.

Bloodborne is set in a European style gothic city which is said to have a potent medical cure-all, which, of course, attracts the citizens suffering from maladies aplenty. The player is one of these people who arrive only to find the city in ruins with the people transformed into violent and deranged forms, with which the player must do battle in order to survive.

Another big release this week is the Handsome Jack Collection, which contains Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel . The collection features the normal remastered bells and whistles you would expect with a 1080p, 60fps port to the new hardware. The main selling point is that Borderlands 2 includes every DLC released for the game and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel includes all DLC to date and the season pass for the yet-unreleased DLC. Those who have a few extra dollars ($399 of them to be precise) were able to pre-order the collection with a remote controlled claptrap in order to have the annoying CL4P-TP steward bot roll around your house dancing to his own dubstep.

You can see what else the new video game releases for the week have in store for you with our complete list below. Be sure to check back next week for the Inquisitr ‘s weekly list of new video game releases.
