Kate Middleton and Prince William are avid travelers to the sunny destination known as Mustique. The couple has traditionally headed to the inviting locale for holiday around this time every year. It’s not only the cold weather months that entice the pair to jet off away from royal duties, but also because Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, celebrates her birthday on January 31. Typically, the venture to Mustique at this time is a Middleton family affair, yet this year, Kate and Prince William, who were expected to join Kate’s parents later on during their stay, remained absent.
Hello Magazine shares reason why the young royal couple may have decided to stay on home base over the time they would usually holiday.
“It’s likely that their focus instead is on their young family. William and Kate’s young son Prince George only recently started attending the Westacre Montessori School in East Walton, and his parents were no doubt reluctant to upset his new nursery routine.”
The publication notes that Prince George, 2, has begun to settle in nicely to his nursery routine, and it may have been considered a poor decision to pull the toddler out of his school for the duration of the possible vacation.
Travelling with an infant is also never an easy task, and while Princess Charlotte seems to be of fantastic temperament, the 4-hour time difference and lengthy plane ride would take it’s toll on the 9-month-old, as well as her parents.
In addition to their little ones being in set routines that would only be disrupted by a holiday to the couple’s favorite getaway destination, both Kate and Prince William have become quite busy in their own personal endeavors, as well as royal responsibilities. Hello reminds as to William’s commitments to the air ambulance service.
“William has commitments keeping him in the UK. Both he and Kate have a busy year ahead with royal engagements, and so the father of two is keen to fit in as many shifts for the East Anglia Air Ambulance as he can in the next few months, before his official work takes over.”
Fast approaching is also the royal tour that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are getting ready to embark on. The tour is meant to start in the spring of this year and will take the couple to India for an extended stay. This will mark the pair’s first tour since jetting off to New York back in 2014. Will and Kate are reportedly leaving their children behind for the tour, so surely are making it possible to spend as much time with the youngsters at home and in routine, as possible.
As Parade shares, the Queen’s 90th birthday is also in the spring, which means that Prince William and Kate will be present and in the forefront at a series of events to celebrate. An insider relayed the wishes of Will and Kate in regards to being present at Queen Elizabeth’s celebrations for her 90th year.
“They want to play a full role in supporting the Queen’s service to the country and to the Commonwealth in her 90th year. Supporting the Queen is a top priority for them and they will play a full part in joining her for major events.”
That all being noted, it is clear as to why Prince William and Kate Middleton have decided to forego a vacation in Mustique. Although the destination is one bordering on paradise, the hectic schedules and arrangement to ensure their family gets there safely while ensuring that all goes on well back in the UK is all likely a bit too overwhelming for the couple to think about, let alone go ahead with.
