Jason Aldean has reportedly split from his wife Jessica Ussery.
Rumors surfaced earlier this week that Aldean’s marriage was in serious trouble after he was caught kissing former American Idol contender Brittany Kerr last year. The singer’s representative admitted that the couple were working through some problems.
However, a source recently told Us Weekly that Jason Aldean and Jessica Ussery actually decided to split up back in January.
“There were obvious problems before the bar kiss, but he finally left earlier this year,” the insider explained to the publication. The source added that Ussery did not attend the Academy of Country Music awards ceremony with her husband earlier this year.
Jason Aldean’s rep admitted that the couple were working things out . However, nothing about the split was revealed during the statement.
“I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time. It’s a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way,” the representative explained.
Jason Aldean apologized to his fans after he was caught kissing Brittany Kerr last October. He wrote on Facebook that he had “screwed up.”
“I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story,” the singer explained.
While the singer addressed the situation once before, he has yet to comment on the alleged separation as of this writing. As with all rumors that come from unnamed sources, it’s always best to approach these reports very carefully until something official has been released.
