During a special birthday episode of OVO Sound Radio , Drake gave his fans an early present when he announced his plan to release a new album.

The Canadian rapper, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday, recently debuted four new songs on OVO Sound Radio show on Sunday, October 23. The tracks are said to be part of his upcoming project titled, More Life: The Playlist , which will feature both new and original songs from himself and other talented collaborators.

Drake confirmed that More Life: The Playlist is set for release in December, giving his fans something to look forward to for Christmas. However, the rapper has yet to reveal how many new tracks will appear in his newest project.

The 30-year-old rapper said that he had done numerous mixtapes and albums in the past, but this time around, he said he wants to give his fans a set of “songs that become the soundtrack to your life.” Drake proudly revealed that his songs are all fresh and original.

He also shared his excitement over his new project as well as his eagerness to reconnect with his avid fans.

“You might hear some tunes from the family on there, but I’m just really excited. I had a great tour, I had a great summer,” he began. “And most people, I guess, would like go probably take a break. But for me, I just want to get right back to it. Be with the people again,” the rapper revealed.

More Life: The Playlist includes fresh tracks such as “Two Birds One Stone,” “Fake Love,” “Sneakin,” and his own take of “Wanna Know.” Three of these tracks will be appearing on his December album.

On “Two Birds One Stone,” Drake appeared to mention his recent beef with rapper Kid Cudi. Last month, Kid Cudi accused rappers Drake and Kanye West of using ghost writers for their songs in a Twitter tirade. West has allegedly settled the dispute with his fellow rapper, but it looks like Drake is not backing down.

Drake alluded to Cudi’s 2009 album Man on the Moon on his new track. The lines “You were the man on the moon / Now you just go through your phases/ Life of the angry and famous,” seemed to reference Cudi’s present mental crisis.

The troubled Man on the Moon artist recently checked into rehab for depression and “suicidal urges,” reports said. He previously admitted that his anxiety has led to trust issues.

During the radio show, Drake also played his own version of “Wanna Know,” which was originally recorded by UK rapper Dave for his debut EP Six Paths . The Canadian rapper expressed his admiration for the London-based musician, describing him as “One of the youngest from the U.K. that’s on a crazy, crazy wave.”

Drake rapped about “fake people showing fake love” to him on his “Fake Love” track. Although it seemed like a song for the broken-hearted, the rapper was actually singing about the shallow type of love that he receives in the music industry. The sadness and angst in these lines are obvious: “I’ve been down so long it look like up to me/ I got fake people showin’ fake love to me/ Straight up to my face, straight up to my face/ They look up to me.”

In “Sneakin,” the Drake collaborated with Atlanta rapper, 21 Savage. Drake is a big fan of the new artist, and their collaboration is a highly-anticipated one.

Drake also posted a piece of album artwork when he shared the wonderful news on his Instagram account, which drew excitement and messages of well-wishes from his followers.
