The Amy Winehouse documentary entitled Amy has been the subject of headlines since its release last month. The documentary shows the late singer’s life, much to the dismay of her family. Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch, spoke out about the movie, calling it “preposterous.”

“The film is representing me in not a very good way. There is no balance, there’s nothing about the foundation. It’s portraying me and Amy in not a very good light.”

Despite the criticism, Amy Winehouse’s father also had good things to say about the film, since it contained beautiful images of his daughter. Amy documentary director, Asif Kapadia, released a statement back in April, saying that there wasn’t any intention to make Mitch the anti-hero, according to The Guardian .

“When we were approached to make the film, we came on board with the full backing of the Winehouse family and we approached the project with total objectivity.”

He also says that the content of the documentary is based on a hundred interviews of those who knew Amy Winehouse the best – his former partners in and out of the music industry, family, and friends.

“The story that the film tells is a reflection of our findings from these interviews.”

You can view the trailer of Amy below.

In accordance with the release of the documentary, sunglass and optical brand, Chilli Beans, has released an Amy Winehouse sunglass/eyeglass line as a tribute to the late singer, as People previously reported.

The limited edition Amy Winehouse glasses come in different styles, and they certainly are reminiscent of Amy’s style.

One of the pairs available is named “Back to Black,” which is a tribute to Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album, her second and final album, which also happens to be the name of one of her songs. Back to Black was a critical success, and it earned her five Grammy’s at the 50 th Grammy Awards, including one for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27, and the coroner’s report said that she had more than five times the legal limit of alcohol content in her body – a fatal amount. Her music still lives on and she still continues to be an inspiration to many singers.

One such singer is 8-year-old Angelina Jordan from Norway, who has been compared to Amy Winehouse, not only because of her singing style, but also her look. In the video below, you can see Angelina sporting a beehive hairstyle, which was Amy Winehouse’s signature look.
