A Dallas mother plead admitted to gluing her daughter’s hands to a wall and beating her, after being arrested on first degree injury to a child charges. Elizabeth Escalona beat her 2-year-old daughter Joselyn into a coma while she was glued to the wall, according to ABC News. Escalona was reportedly having potty training problems prior being beaten while her hands were glued to a wall.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services stated during a press conference the little girl was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with sustained bruising and blunt force trauma after her glued hands were removed from the wall. Joselyn was in a coma for two days and also suffered from brain swelling, broken bones, swollen intestines, an injured liver and bruised lungs. The little girl is expected to make a full recovery and have no lasting medical issues related to her beating while being glued to the wall by her mother.

“I have no comment and only God can judge me. That’s all I gotta say,” Escalona told the press while exiting the courtroom.

After her arrest all of Escalona’s remaining children were immediately removed from the home and placed in the custody of the state of Texas, WLBT News reports. The toddler’s siblings told police investigators that their mother repeatedly kicked the girl in the stomach and then hit her with “various objects” before gluing the girl’s hands to the wall. Items Elizabeth Escalona used to beat her daughter before gluing her hands to the wall included a belt, a shoes and a jug of milk, according to the New York Daily News.

The day the mother glued her daughter’s hands to the wall Escalona changed her Facebook profile photo to an image of Joselyn and wrote on her status, “Why does god put obstacles in my life?”

“In the almost six years that I’ve been in child abuse, this is one of the most horrific child abuse cases that I’ve been witness to, and I’ve seen a lot. This is beyond abuse. This is torture,” Dallas Police Sgt. Brenda Nichols stated, according to the New York Daily News. Escalona could face life in prison for the abuse she inflicted upon her toddler daughter while her hands were glued to the wall. Escalona has been investigated before for allegations of child abuse involving her older children.
