Once Upon A Time fans are anxiously awaiting the return of this series to ABC in September. Now, they have a brand new sneak peek of the season premiere titled “The Dark Swan.” Spoiler TV shared video of the brand new sneak peek released at the D23 Expo on Saturday night, and the clip picks up where Season 4 ended.

Emma is surrounded in a vortex of black evil before she vanishes and the dark one’s dagger falls to the ground with her named etched on it. Regina, Robin Hood, and her parents are all in shock immediately. Regina thinks Emma made a dumb move. Henry is almost speechless as he enters the scene.
Hook goes into action first. He walks towards the dagger, and he does not allow Robin Hood to stop him. He tries to summon Emma back to them, but after two unsuccessful attempts, Regina tells him that Emma is not in the world.
Regina will play a new role on the series during Once Upon A Time Season 5. She will fill the shoes of savior with Emma going dark, according to TV Guide . She will lead the fight to save Emma from turning fully dark. This battle will take them on a search for Merlin. During this search, Regina and the others will meet King Arthur and his knights.
It does appear that Regina’s quest is not successful because Emma will learn all there is to know about dark magic from the former dark one. Rumpelstiltskin will be her mentor, according to a report from Venture Capital Post .
This new sneak peek does confirm that Hook will stay by her side. Does his going for the dagger first mean he will have control over it? That is not known. Ginnifer Goodwin teased that the question about who will have control of the dagger will be answered very early on during Once Upon A Time Season 5.
However, a previous Inquisitr report teased that Hook will not have it easy when it comes to Emma’s new state. Colin O’Donoghue spoke about his difficulties at Comic-Con.
“Hook spent hundreds of years trying to kill the Dark One and now his girlfriend is the Dark One so it’s going to be complicated. Hook loves Emma and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her heart and bring her back to being good again and being the woman that he fell in love with. As much as Belle could see the good in Rumple, Hook is the same with Emma.”
