As Kathy Griffin leaves Fashion Police after only seven episodes, she offered a carefully worded reason for cancelling her attempt to channel Joan Rivers as the host of the red carpet designer dress review. But with her departure so quickly following the exit of Kelly Osbourne , many are wondering whether the show itself has long to survive, revealed the Hollywood Reporter .
To provide a rationale, Kathy first took time to introduce herself on social media, listing her credits. But she made it clear that trying to step into Joan Rivers’ shoes was a trial-by-fire… and after the brouhaha brewed up by Giuliana Rancic’s slam of Zendaya’s dreadlocks, that fire came uncomfortable close to singeing Kathy herself.

“After seven episodes of ‘Fashion Police,’ I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it’s time to move on,” summed up the commediene.
Her Twitter post also clarified what she wants to do in life, and Kathy emphasized that Fashion Police no longer is tailored to her goals.
After Joan Rivers died, Fashion Police was off the air, causing some to wonder whether it could or should return. But the show did attempt to make a comeback with Rancic, Osbourne, Griffin, and Brad Goreski.
However, in the wake of long-lasting anger over Giuliana’s comments about Zendaya, first Kelly and now Kathy have stated their desire to distance themselves from the show and its new reputation for cruelty towards women’s bodies.
“My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about context,” emphasized Kathy in her statement. “There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it.”
Just what happened to cause this controversy? As the Inquisitr reported, the outrage broke out when Giuliana was offering her Fashion Police commentary on Academy Award fashions .
Looking at Zendaya’s dreadlocks, Rancic sniffed her disdain.
“I feel like she smells like patchouli oil … or maybe weed.”
In addition to social media slamming Giuliana, The View co-hosts devoted part of their show to attacking Rancic. Among those was Whoopi Goldberg, shown below.
So who can replace Kelly and Kathy by channeling Joan Rivers’ style of humor and wit? Among those considered for the fashionista chair are Khloe Kardashian and Amber Rose , according to Hollywood Life .
However, it’s not likely that the two women could work smoothly together, reveals a source.
“[Khloe] would do ‘Fashion Police’ for free if it made E! not select Amber Rose for the job,” said the insider. “It is now more important for her to not have Amber Rose on the show than being on the show herself.”
