Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s pre-nuptial agreement includes an iron-clad agreement that if one of them cheats on the other, then the offending party will have to pay a huge sum.
Jolie and Pitt recently exchanged vows in a private ceremony at the Chateau Miraval in France. Even though they are currently loved up, they still decided to include an adultery clause in their prenuptial agreement just to be safe.
Star Magazine reported that the duo put pen to paper on the deal shortly before they finally said “I do” on August 23. It’s believed that the inclusion of the clause was “heavily encouraged by their lawyers,” and it’s believed that Jolie was especially wary just in case Brad is unfaithful. This way, their assets remain intact.
It’s also believed that should Brad’s eye does wander over to another woman, Jolie will get primary custody of their six children. The insider added, “If Brad gets too serious with another woman while they are married, [Angelina will] get primary custody if they split.”
But what else have the pair decided if, for whatever reason, they decide that life as man and wife has failed? Well, the assets they separately brought into their marriage will be given back to that person, while the money and possessions that they have earned while married will be put into a trust, which will then be split six ways for their children.
This means that none of the money that Pitt or Jolie earn while married will “go to Brad or Angie or a subsequent partner.” The source then added that this decision was reached as it “really seemed like the fairest way to go about it.”
While signing this pre-nup, Pitt and Angelina also dotted and i’s and crossed the t’s on the wills for their six children, according to International Business Times . As you’d expect, almost all of their wealth will go to Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, and their twins, Knox and Vivienne. Quite a slice of cash will also go to orphanages in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethopia where they adopted their kids from, while funds will also be provided to cancer research.
It’s no surprise that Jolie and Pitt have singed this agreement. When they first got together, there were various rumors that the actress had seduced Pitt on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith , even though he was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time. The pair have both insisted this wasn’t the case, but the speculation has swirled for years.
