‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ Debuts International Trailer [Video]

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit has a new international trailer, in the heels of the first one that came out a couple of weeks ago and the new poster that went along with it.

Chris Pine plays the famous Tom Clancy character, Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst turned spy. In Shadow Recruit we see a younger Ryan, who gets embroiled in a Russian conspiracy that threatens to take down the US economy with a cyber attack.

Ryan must travel to Moscow to confront the mastermind Viktor Cherevin, played by director Kenneth Branagh.

Keira Knightley plays Cathy Ryan, the young, unsuspecting wife who is suspicious enough about her husband’s line of work that she follows him to the Russian capital.

“What are you doing here?” Ryan is seen asking her while she sits on the hotel bed.

Not good for marital bliss, considering Ryan is dealing with dangerous criminals with an intent to kill him.

In the new film Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Chris Pine takes on one of Clancy’s most popular and best known characters. A charismatic low key analyst, until he is required to spring into action and show off his skills at avoiding those that want to harm him.

The character has been portrayed by some big names in the movie industry. Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear And Present Danger), Alec Baldwin (The Hunt For Red October), and Ben Affleck (The Sum Of All Fears) were cast as Ryan previously.

Shadow Recruit is different, in that it is not based on a book as all the other Jack Ryan movies are, rather it is a new perspective on the character who finds himself in the beginnings of his undercover career, which we see fully developed in previous films.

It is a somewhat of an introduction to the man and how he began doing what followers of the novels and movies know him for, which is defend his country at all costs.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit comes to theaters on December 25, Christmas Day and also stars Kevin Costner and Colm Fiore.
