Arrested City Councilman Exposed Penis During Bar Fight: ‘This Is What A Real Man Looks Like’

A Spirit Lake City Council member was arrested after he exposed his penis during a confrontation at a bar.

James “Jimmy” Brown has now been charged with Indecent Exposure and Battery, and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s office are now investigating the reported incident.

The ordeal took place between Brown and Eric Vangemert, who resides in Spirit Lake, Idaho. According to court documents, Brown allegedly got into an altercation with Mr Vangemert which resulted in the pair sparring.

However, once the duo finished their bout, Mr Brown reportedly decided to expose his penis to Mr Vangemert’s wife, before noting, “This is what a real man looks like.”

Mr Vangemert and Brown are believed to have fought outside Joe’s Hole, which is a restaurant and bar in Spirit Lake.

However, Mr Brown disputes these claims, stating that he never got into a fight with Mr Vangemert. The city councilman stated, “That guy had one sole purpose in mind and that was to get me in trouble.”

Mr Vangemert has also commented on the fight, noting to KHQ that he did call Brown an offensive name, however he did add that he still believes the physical encounter was “unprovoked.”

He also commented that he believes Mr Brown went for Mr Vangemert because of an incident between himself and one of Brown’s friends which took place several years ago.

Court papers have also remarked that Mr Brown then asked Gene Marquez, Spirt Lake’s Police Chief, if he’s “exempt from the law” because of his status as a city council member. Brown has asserted that he didn’t come out with this comment though.

Mr Brown has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his attorney has asked for a jury trial. When he was approached for a comment, Spirit Lake’s Mayor Todd Clary refused to provide one.
