Alexander Skarsgard, Jamie Dornan On Short List For Christian Grey Role [Rumor]

Alexander Skarsgard and Jamie Dornan are two of the names on the short list for the Christian Grey role.

The hunky actors are supposedly being considered by the producers of Fifty Shades Of Grey after the untimely departure of Charlie Hunnam, who has left the project.

Hunnam’s official reason for leaving is a conflict with the filming of his hit show Sons Of Anarchy, which started on October 11.

Aelxander Skarsgard and Jamie Dornan top the list of actors being considered to play the kinky billionaire from the E.L. James novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s sources.

Skarsgard stars in the canceled hit HBO show, True Blood and is known for being very comfortable with nudity going full frontal on the Season 6 finale.

Irish actor and model Jamie Dornan is also being considered according to the rumors. He recently starred in The Fall.

Producers are reportedly revisiting the original pool of actors who were being tapped to play Christian Grey. Joining Alexander Skarsgard and Jamie Dornan are Theo James (Underworld: Awakening) and Christian Cooke (Cemetery Junction).

Fan favorite Matt Bomer, who in the minds of many is the personification of the raunchy character, has said he is not interested in the role. Same with Ian Somerhalder, another favorite with fans.

Henry Cavill has also been mentioned and his followers insist that he would be the best Christian Grey, but he doesn’t seem to be interested either as he is currently filming The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and films the Batman vs. Superman movie next year.

In other news related to Fifty Shades Of Grey, screenwriter Patrick Marber has been hired to work on the script and develop the characters.

His best known piece of work is Closer with Jude Law and Natalie Portman. Marber also worked on Notes On A Scandal.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson has her work cut out for her, whether Alexander Skarsgard, Jamie Dornan or any of the actors mentioned is cast as Christian Grey, filming is set to begin next month and time is running out.
