Hank Moran Murders Wife, Says, ‘I Loved The B***h’

Hank Moran earned $1,600 per month as an iron worker in Opelousas, Louisiana. The 44-year-old’s wife, Constance Moran, worked at a Dollar General.

In 2005, the couple claimed poverty, but an injury to Constance at a friend’s home won the Morans an undisclosed insurance settlement they collected on two years later.

Not much was known about the couple. For the most part, they stayed out of trouble and had no record of domestic disturbance.

But last week, all of that came crashing down in one of the more horrifying cases of murder that we’ve read.

On Tuesday, Hank Moran was hiding under the couples’ home after his wife placed a call to police at 5:28 am. She said that her husband had choked her after she’d said she wanted a divorce. But when a responding officer arrived, he couldn’t find Hank, so he checked the surrounding area, according to The Advocate.

The officer returned to check on Constance minutes later and found Hank Moran kneeling over the body with a bloody black knife in his hand.

Constance had been inflicted with “multiple stab wounds” at that point, according to the police report.

“The last thing she told me was that she loved me, I looked at her straight in the eyes and said, ‘I love you too baby,'” Hank Moran said in comments to the police.

That was just before he brought the knife down one more time directly into his wife’s esophagus.

His explanation for the grisly crime: “I waited under the house until y’all left then I kicked the door and commence to juggin her,” Moran said. “She yap yap yap her mouth all night and I was tired of it, I was trying to sleep and I just couldn’t take it anymore … and I can’t wait to kill again.”

Arresting officer Pvt. Morris Leday said that when he came upon Hank Moran standing by his wife’s body, the suspect said, “I bet now she’ll listen.”

According to the affidavit, he also told paramedics, who were checking Constance’s vital signs, “I did what I had to do. … I did the job right, huh officer? Did I do the job right?”

After interrogating Hank Moran, the officers were about to move him to a jail cell. They told him to remove his wedding ring, but he refused. From the affidavit:

“I’m not taking this ring off. It’s my marriage ring. I killed her, but I loved the b***h.”

Unfortunately, this shocking crime isn’t the only one we’ve had to report on lately. On Friday, we told you about Leatrice Brewer, the mother of three who was convicted of killing her three children giving birth to a fourth while inside a mental facility.

Also last week, there was the news that Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson lost his two-year-old son due to a case of abuse allegedly perpetrated by the boy’s stepfather.

The Hank Moran case appears to be more indication that if there wasn’t bad news, there would be no news at all. Do you think Moran is sane enough to stand trial for this crime?
