Mariah Carey Talks Shoulder Injury, New Album On Facebook

Mariah Carey opened up about her upcoming album and a recent shoulder injury in a letter to supporters posted on Facebook.

Fans were hoping to get their hands on a copy of her new album The Art of Letting Go at some point this year. Although Carey previously dropped hints about a possible release date, she later announced that the collection of tunes was indefinitely delayed.

In the open letter to her fans and followers on Facebook, Mariah Carey revealed that folks could receive some brand new music “sooner than you know it.” However, she stopped short of revealing when the new work would be available to the masses.

“There’s a lot of excitement that I’m going to reveal to you very soon, and sooner than you know it, you’re going to understand why but more than that, you’re going to feel what I’ve been feeling for the past- not three months- but three years,” the singer wrote.

She added, “This is, to me, one of the most important albums I’ve ever made in my life. If you’re a lamb, a fan, or just a human being that needs to feel good, happy, sad, miserable, joyous.”

Mariah Carey also touched on the shoulder injury she suffered on the set of a music video during the summer. According to the singer, the last three months of her life haven’t been the easiest.

She wrote on Facebook:

“Getting through this injury has been the toughest experience of my life. It took me three months to get to this point but thank God I was able to recover and get my arm back. It’s a huge deal, it should have taken eight months and even my doctors can’t believe it. It’s been a long journey, the physical therapists have been incredible and I am very grateful to all of them for helping me.”

The Inquisitr previously reported that veteran music producer Jermaine Dupri was recently brought in as Carey’s new manager. The singer also shared a very revealing photo on social media to celebrate husband Nick Cannon’s birthday.
