Will Ferrell Joins John C. Reilly For ‘Devil’s Night’

Step Brothers stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are joining forces one more time.

Since the actors work extremely well together, Sony Pictures is hoping to rekindle some of their previous magic for the comedy Devil’s Night. Ferrell and Anchorman 2 director Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions will help bring the project to the big screen.

According to The Wrap, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star as friends who watched their relationship fall apart during Devil’s Night several years ago. However, things have changed a bit since they were children.

Here’s how the website describes the plot:

“The unofficial holiday made Leonard and Gabe best friends as children, though it would eventually be responsible for tearing them apart. Fifteen years later, with Devil’s Night growing out of control, they must put their differences aside and reunite to save their neighborhood from utter destruction.”

Cinema Blend reports that Yes Man scribes Andrew Mogul and Jarrad Paul handled scripting duties on Devil’s Night. However, it’s unclear when Sony Pictures and Gary Sanchez Productions intend to release the flick into theaters.

Despite what you think about Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s work, the guys are definitely strong contenders at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, the pair’s 2006 comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby earned $148 million in the US alone.

Ferrell and Reilly’s collaboration Step Brothers was also a popular choice with moviegoers back in 2008. Although it wasn’t as successful as their previous effort, director Adam McKay’s comedy generated a very health $100 million during its theatrical run.

Fans of Will Ferrell can catch the comedic actor next in McKay’s long-awaited sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The movie is presently scheduled to hit theaters in the US on December 20. Check out the trailer for the comedy below.
