Joe Scarborough Divorced Quietly In January, Affair Denied

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough quietly got divorced in January, TMZ reports.

Court records dug up by the celebrity gossip rag show that Scarborough and his wife, Susan Waren, discreetly split up at the beginning of 2013.

The 50-year-old former Florida congressman and conservative pundit filed back in September 2012 in Connecticut. The two were married in 2001 and have two children together, a 10-year-old and a 5-year-old.

Susan Waren was Scarborough’s second wife, and a former aide to Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Details of the settlement are unknown, as is why the couple chose to split up. However, a source told The Huffington Post that the settlement described Scarborough as a “faithful, devoted and committed father and husband,” whatever that’s worth.

Still, the split seems to not be acrimonious. The two told TMZ that they “are still close friends” and remain focused on raising their children.

“This was a difficult decision but after much prayer and counseling, we concluded it was the right one for our family,” they added.

Of course, there have long been rumors that Joe has a bit of a crush on his “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, even though she herself is married. The “sexual tension” between the two has caused such speculation, says TMZ, that they addressed it during a media event in 2009, confirming that they’re just friends.

Scarborough’s first marriage was to Melanie Hinton. They divorced back in 1999, after 13 years together. They also have two children together. Both are now adults.
