Chloe Moretz Joins ‘November Criminals’

Chloe Moretz has joined the cast of November Criminals.

The film is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Sam Munson. November Criminals follows a rebellious teenager who finds himself leading his own investigation into the murder of a classmate. Moretz plays the female lead of Phoebe, and British filmmaker Sacha Gervasi (Hitchcock) is currently casting the male lead.

Chloe Moretz, who also stars in the upcoming Carrie remake, was recently the victim of a death hoax. Global Associated News reported that the 16-year-old “died shortly after a snowboard accident” in Switzerland. Moretz went on Twitter shortly after the report to prove that she was still alive.

“I don’t know who made this up but you’re disgusting. I am not dead. I did not die from snowboarding. It isn’t even snowing here in Switzerland,” she wrote. “I’ve had my loved ones calling crying to check and see if I’m alive. Don’t make this up. It’s not real. I am fully alive and here. You’re sick.”

Previous hoax victims include Adam Sandler, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Tiger Woods, and Will Smith. A number of the hoaxes involve snowboarding accidents.

The young actress will also be starring in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel Dark Places. The film began production in Shreveport, Louisiana, last month, and is scheduled for a 2014 release.

Chloe Moretz recently sparked rumors that she would be starring in Star Wars: Episode VII after she posted a few innocent tweets. Moretz wrote, “Night shoots = movie day in,” before posting a picture of the Star Wars logo. She then posted the message, “Darth Maul is terrifying,” before adding a picture of the villain with the caption, “Total creep.”

Moretz said that she would be interested in starring in the film, but that she would have to wait and see.
