Valerie Harper Is Out Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Valerie Harper achieved a massive feat in this years Dancing With the Stars.

At the age of 74 and having battled with terminal cancer for a while now, Valerie graced the competition with her finesse, determination and some pretty hot dance moves.

Even though a previous knee injury and very complex dance routines were a challenge for Valerie, she never allowed her condition to hold her back from amazing performances in the competition.

Monday night’s 18-point Viennese waltz by Valerie Harper was stunning but not quite good enough for the strict marking of the judges. So Valerie and her dance partner Tristan MacManus exited the competition.

Valerie said: “It has been absolutely wonderful — completely unique, like nothing else in the world that you would ever do. It was an opportunity for me to carry a message to folks, not just with cancer, whatever they have — whatever challenge.”

Tristan also spoke, after the points were given, about his experience working with Valerie: “Sometimes you get very lucky to do well with your partner. Sometimes you get very lucky in your life to meet someone who can affect (you) more than this (show) could at all. I feel like I’ve been very lucky to get that. And I feel like maybe me life’s a little bit better since I met Valerie Harper.”

Julianne Hough who filled in as guest judge in place of Len Goodman was teary-eyed as she watched Valerie perform for the last time on the show this season. She said: “I don’t think that I’ve had the chance to tell you how courageous I think that you are.”
