‘Fifty Shades’ Casting: Jennifer Ehle Joins Charlie Hunnam, Dakota Johnson [Report]

Fifty Shades Of Grey is moving along with the casting additions. Jennifer Ehle, from Zero Dark Thirty will be joining Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson.

Ehle is reportedly playing the role of Anastasia Steele’s mother. Charlie Hunnam will play the millionaire magnate Christian Grey and Johnson is cast as Anastasia.

Undoubtedly, the casting has to be as sexy as the story and the main characters, so this follows suit in the film, an adaptation of E.L. James’ successful novel of the same name, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

There was controversy when fans didn’t get the casting they were expecting and Hunnam and Johnson were chosen to play the main roles in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Things seem to have settled a bit and there have been no further petitions asking the studio to dump the actors playing the main characters and cast who fans wanted.

Anastasia’s mother, in the Fifty Shades book is not the greatest character. She has been married four times, spends too much money, and doesn’t have a great relationship with her daughter.

Deadline is reporting via Cinemablend that Focus features and Universal Pictures are in negotiations with Jennifer Ehl to play Carla May Wilkes.

Jennifer Ehle became very popular with period drama fans when she portrayed one of the most iconic roles in all of literature, Elizabeth Bennet, in the BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel Pride And Prejudice opposite Colin Firth.

She also made a big splash in 2010, when she, once again, starred with Colin Firth in the award winning drama The King’s Speech.

Ehle has been busy since then, starring in the films The Ides Of Mars and Contagion. She will star in several others in the coming year.

Fifty Shades Of Grey casting continues for the main roles in the film which is set to open on August 1, 2014.
