Bradley Cooper To Executive Produce A ‘Limitless’ Series For TV, Report

Oscar nominated Bradley Cooper (Silver Linnings Playbook, The Hangover, Limitless) will executive produce a Limitless television series based on the sci-fi movie of the same name.

The Limitless series will follow several movies turned into successful television series, including Hannibal, Bates Motel, and more recently Sleepy Hollow, which has received praise from critics and viewers alike and was renewed by Fox.

Cooper’s series would be produced by Relativity Media in partnership with Georgeville Television, based on the 2011 thriller which also starred Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish.

The original was loosely based on the novel The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn and tells the story of a struggling writer played by Cooper, who begins taking a non-FDA-approved medical drug that allows him to access one-hundred percent of his brain’s abilities. He then changed into a more intelligent, charismatic, and successful version of his previous self, but this all comes at a price.

Bradley Cooper who is one of the most sought young American actors and had a terrific year in 2012, which culminated in a nomination for an Academy Award for his role as a emotionally troubled man in Silver Linnings Playbook, is exploring other possibilities within the industry.

Cooper will executive produce with the Limitless’ original script writer, Leslie Dixon as well as the film’s producer Scott Kroopf.

Even though the project has not been publicly announced, Relativity CEO made the following statement according to Deadline:

Limitless is the perfect example of Relativity’s multi-platform approach to creating quality content. The film has an organic natural extension into a compelling and sophisticated one-hour drama that is both a thrill-ride and a social commentary.”

Screenrant suggests that the series could delve into a deeper look at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and could possibly expand on the effects of the drug NZT-48.

It is unclear whether Bradley Cooper would also star in the series. More information to come.
