‘Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition’ Coming To PlayStation 4, Not Xbox One

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition is coming to PlayStation 4 and other consoles, though an Xbox One version was not announced. That seems odd considering that it’s coming to Xbox 360.

The DC Comics fighting game that hit with the wallop of the man of steel is getting an updated re-release with all of the DLC included. Seeing as Street Fighter IV has done the same thing, it’s no surprise that NetherRealm Studios believes they can get away with it too. Unfortunately you’ll pay the full game price for it, unlike its major competitor which sells for around $40 every time an update comes along. That alone might make gamers who already own Injustice: Gods Among Us hesitant to put the money down, instead opting to just download what they want for a lower price.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will get a special version on the PlayStation 4, which is said to be “remastered for next-gen technology,” with touchpad functionality, video streaming, and most likely some fantastic visuals that take advantage of the more powerful graphics hardware.

Speaking of better graphics, High Voltage is also working on a PC version, while Armature Studios is working on a PS Vita port with mini-game touch controls, collectible hero cards, and WiFi multiplayer.

As for the absence of an Xbox One version, it’s anyone’s guess as to why Microsoft’s next-gen console is being supposedly left out. Perhaps it’s because Microsoft can’t seem to make up their mind what they’re going to do with the machine? Perhaps it’s how the next-gen console is being pushed as almost everything but a gaming system? Only the people behind the game know for sure.

For a quick recap, the DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us includes “over 30 new skins, six new characters, and 60 new STARS lab missions.” The DLC characters available include Zatanna, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, Batgirl, Lobo, and the Mortal Kombat character Scorpion.

If you haven’t picked up your copy, the new Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition might just be enough to convince you to give it a shot.
