9-Year-Old Boy Flies To Vegas Without Ticket, TSA Blames Government Shutdown

The Transportation Security Agency (TSA) is coming under fire after a 9-year-old boy caught a flight from Minneapolis to Las Vegas. There was just two problems with his flight, the young boy didn’t have an escort or a plane ticket.

The TSA immediately jumped at the chance to blame the recent government shutdown on its lack of full security.

According to Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Patrick Hogan: “I’ve worked at the airport for 13 years, and we have more than 33 million people go through the terminal every year, and I’ve never heard of anything like this happening before.”

The flight went down on Thursday morning after the boy made his way through security and boarded Delta Flight 1651, a direct route to Las Vegas.

Delta crew members realized the mistake after checking the passenger list and realizing there were no unaccompanied minors on their passenger list.

After the flight landed in Las Vegas a TSA spokesperson released the following statement:

“We’re investigating … and looking into our part to see what occurred and what didn’t occur.”

The boy not only didn’t have a ticket to board the plane, he stole food from an airport restaurant and stole another passengers bag from a luggage carousel.

Child protection services is now investigating the 9-year-old boys parents because of his unauthorized flight. We would like to believe that the devious boy outwitted his parents just as he did an entire government trained TSA staff.

Are you surprised by the lack of security at the airport in Minneapolis and Delta’s failure to realize the boy didn’t have a ticket or adult supervision?
