Gina Carano’s ‘In The Blood’ Hits Home Video Next Year


MMA star-turned-actress Gina Carano’s latest cinematic effort In the Blood was recently picked up by Anchor Bay Entertainment. The distributor plans to release the flick in 2014.

Helmed by Into the Blue director John Stockwell, the movie stars Carano as a woman whose husband goes missing during a trip to the Caribbean. Convinced that something sinister happened to her spouse during the vacation, she sets out to exact revenge on those responsible for his disappearance. Expect plenty of tense fight scenes.

Gina Carano stars alongside Stephen Lang, Luis Guzman, Treat Williams, and Machete Kills star Danny Trejo in the upcoming action flick. Anchor Bay Entertainment is reportedly joining forces with 20th Century Fox to release the movie next year.

Instead of premiering at a theater near you, In the Blood is heading straight to home video. The flick will bypass the big screen and arrive directly on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download. Unfortunately, a release date isn’t available as of this writing.

Gina Carano made her film debut in the Michael Jai White action movie Blood and Bone. Although the flick went straight-to-video, it quickly developed a loyal following amount fight film enthusiasts.

Director Steven Soderbergh gave the brawler her theatrical debut in 2011. Clearly impressed with her abilities as a fighter, Soderbergh cast Carano as the lead in Haywire. The film told the story of a black ops soldier who goes after the guys responsible for setting her up.

The MMA star recently appeared in director Justin Lin’s wildly successful sequel, Fast and Furious 6. The film found Carano squaring off against Michelle Rodriguez in a handful of notable set pieces. The movie went on to make over $780 million at the box office worldwide.

Reports surfaced last year that Carano was in the running to star in the all-female version of Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables. Outside of a few casting rumors, not much about the project has surfaced in recent days.
