It’s been a busy day for all those awaiting for news about The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug. And director Peter Jackson has treated us to more goodies on his Facebook page.

If you are a fan of Jackson and his J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation, then you are a happy camper today.

Peter Jackson is known and loved by his fans for being more than generous in sharing large amounts of behind-the-scenes footage.

He has made several production video blogs discussing his filming adventures extensively.

Jackson has reportedly been very busy putting the finishing touches for the sequel to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first on the trilogy that makes up The Hobbit.

The Kiwi director was criticized for his decision to make three films and not the two he had originally announced.

He defended his actions saying there was just too much footage and it would have been almost criminal not to make another film having more than what he needed for his The Hobbit adaptation.

This is also in keeping with the tradition of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, which are the sequel to The Hobbit.

Jackson has captioned the new images, which are really new banners to promote the film as follows.

Lee Pace is the Elvenking, Thranduil.

Luke Evans is Bard the Bowman.

Bilbo & Company.

This last banner was released earlier, but Peter Jackson treated his fans to two additional posters.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchette, Evangeline Lilly, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, and Bendict Cumberbatch voicing Smaug.

The next installment in The Hobbit trilogy comes to theaters on December 13 in IMAX, 3D, and 2D. It is brought to audiences using the new technology of 48 frames per second.
