A man driving a Range Rover, accidentally hit a biker and was then beaten up by a group of motorcyclists in Manhattan. The driver of the SUV was in the vehicle with his wife and 5 -year-old child when the incident happened.

The shocking video which emerged on Liveleak.com, shows the driver of the SUV ploughing through a crowd of motorcyclists in a frantic attempt to escape them for fear of being attacked further.

The police reported that a group of bikers began to vandalize the Range Ranger. The video clip – which lasts for about six minutes – shows the Range Rover hitting yet another motorcycle after the group chased after it.

The SUV is then forced to stop at a traffic light as some of the bikers approach the vehicle, smash the driver’s window and try to smash the rear window. The NYPD said that the driver of the vehicle, who is in his 30’s, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident took place during an annual bikers’ event in New York City, at around 2 pm on Sunday. The footage was captured by a helmet camera worn by one of the bikers.

Soon after the video was posted by one of the bikers, a flurry of comments in support of the Range Rover driver were posted. One person said: “I would do exactly the same thing. They’re intimidating him and he’s probably fearing for his life.”

Another commenter, named Zacarra, said it was clear from the video clip that the driver acted in self-defense: “Did you see the biker break (sic) check him in the beginning. This poor guy was running for his life from the start.”
