Alanis Morissette Sued By Nanny, Worker Claims Horrible Conditions

OMG! Alanis Morissette is being sued by her former nanny, and the allegations are insane against the hippy dippy former Lilith Fair star.

While Alanis Morissette was a counterculture cum mainstream singer in the somewhat feminist and bohemian music scene in the 90s, the former nanny of the singer alleges some uncharitable treatment — that the woman claims includes being locked in a room with no breaks.

According to Morissette’s former nanny Bianca Cambiero — who’s suing the star for a reported $130,000 — the “You Oughta Know” singer and hubby Mario Treadway locked their sitter in a bedroom with the tot for shifts lasting 12 hours, refusing to allow her a break during the lock-in.

Cambiero says that $100,000 of the amount she’s suing for is for the emotional damage allegedly sustained during her work as a nanny for Alanis’ baby boy, Ever. The other $30,000, Cambiero says, is for unpaid wages and overtime not given during the lengthy sessions.

The nanny says there were often seven day stretches she worked without a day off, and that she accompanied the rock star on tour and cared for the baby while the singer performed.

RadarOnline carries many of the allegations, and adds:

“The former employee contends she was never paid overtime and was denied rest and meal breaks daily, and also traveled with Morissette on tour and worked seven days in a row on seven different occasions… Furthermore, the nanny was told Morissette’s son was never to be left alone while the was sleeping, unless one of the parents were present, or the day nanny arrived to relieve Cambeiro.”

According to the site, Alanis Morissette’s nannies asked about being paid overtime for the lengthy shifts, and an accountant for the singer simply told the workers that “we don’t do that.”
