Teresa Giudice Opens Up About Fraud Charges, Remains Focused On Family

Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe recently discussed what might happen to their children if they are found guilty of fraud.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars recently stopped by Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live to discuss the pending lawsuit and the problems her family is facing. Teresa and Joe are staring down 39 counts of financial fraud, charges that could land them behind bars for 50 years.

If Teresa Giudice and her husband end up in prison for a significant portion of their lives, then her children could end up in the care of their relatives. However, the couple has a few ideas about who will look after their offspring.

“They wouldn’t want to go [with Melissa and Joe Gorga]. Because of all the things they say on television about their mom. It wouldn’t be Melissa and Joe. It would be my sister and brother,” her husband recently explained on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

Teresa Giudice told Andy Cohen that she remains focused on her family during these trying times. However, she admitted that keeping herself together takes a lot of will power. She also hopes her children learn from their parents’ mistakes.

“t’s devastating. I have anxiety and sleepless nights. I used to sleep like a baby, now I get up. It feels like a dream. I have to be strong, for my husband — for my children. I’m trying to do the best I can,” she explained.

The reality TV star continued, “I can’t fall apart, Andy. I have my daughters. They mean the world to me. Maybe out of all this. I don’t know. You go through things in life, I don’t know why. I’m asking like, why is this happening to me?”

The couple said they currently have no intention of going into hiding. According to Teresa, “crawling under a rock” and disappearing isn’t an option for the pair at the moment.

“That’s not me. I am still going to be the person who I am and the day I go to court, when we resolve this, everyone will see who Joe and I really are. I am not just running away,” she added.

Teresa Giudice and her husband are currently headed to trial this February.
