Alanis Morissette Held Me Hostage, Says Former Nanny

Alanis Morissette is being sued by her former nanny.

Why? Was it money? Some sort of breach of contract? According to the lawsuit, the “You Oughta Know” singer held her former employee Bianca Cambeiro hostage.

The lawsuit claims that Morissette and her husband Mario Treadway used to lock Cambeiro in a bedroom with their newborn son Ever. The couple reportedly refused to let Cambeiro out of the room for the duration of her 12-hour shift.

The Daily Mail notes that Cambeiro worked from 9 pm to 9 am. She was not allowed to leave the room while Ever’s slept. The only time that she did get a break was when Alanis or her husband were in the room.

TMZ reports that Bianca worked for Morissette between August 2011 and March 2013. Bianca was reportedly paid $25 an hour during the graveyard shift.

The lawsuit was filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court. The singer’s former nanny is suing for $100,000. Bianca also claims that Morissette owes her more than $30,000 in unpaid overtime wages.

The lawsuit claims that Bianca once brought up the issue of overtime to her employer. Morissette reportedly responded: “We don’t do that.”

Alanis has not responded to the lawsuit.

Do you think Alanis Morissette really held her nanny hostage?
