Ron Perlman Signs On To Host Charity Golf Event

Sons of Anarchy star Ron Perlman recently signed on to host a charity golf event for the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.

The “Actors Fore Actors” New York Golf Classic is all set to take place in Westchester, New York next month. The acclaimed actor and several of his fellow thespians will tee off at the Trump National Golf Club on October 7.

According to UPI, the upcoming SAG event will help benefit actors and actresses who need a little financial assistance. All of the proceeds from the charity golf game will go directly to the Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance.

Ron Perlman said in a recent statement:

“The SAG Foundation is a phenomenal organization that helps my fellow union brothers and sisters in times of emergency. I’m looking forward to hosting the first New York Golf Classic so that the SAG Foundation can continue to make a difference by responding swiftly when crises arise.”

The Hollywood Reporter explains that the SAG foundation helped raise over $1.1 million back in 2009. After four successful tournaments in Los Angeles, the organization and the folks at Integrated Wealth Management are taking the event to New York.

“Integrated Wealth Management is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the SAG Foundation’s inaugural New York Golf Classic. We think it is important to support the SAG Foundation’s charitable efforts in order to provide a vital safety net for performers in need,” company CEO Jim Casey said in a statement.

When Ron Perlman isn’t helping people raise money for a good cause, he still finds time to do a little acting. Not only is he starring in the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy, the busy actor also has a number of movies currently in the works. Fans can catch him next in Dermaphoria, Poker Night, and 13 Sins.
