Drake And Beyonce Have Collaborated On New Music, Rapper Pays Tribute [Video]

If Drake’s “Girls Love Beyoncé” track, an one-off he put out earlier this year didn’t let people know how deeply he is feeling Queen Bey, perhaps hearing that the pair have collaborated on her new music will.

Currently on press rounds for his just released rap album “Nothing Was the Same,” the 26-year-old sat down with Ryan Seacrest for iHeartRadio to talk up his record. During their chat the rapper revealed his admiration for the songstress and that they had worked together.

“I reached out to her and asked if I could come and be a part of her project, and she was kind enough to invite me out there, and we did some work together,” Drake said.

Warming to his theme, the Toronto native told Seacrest, “I’m a Beyoncé believer. I really believe strongly in her talent and her position in our generation.

“I think she’s one of the biggest stars ever,” the 26-year-old added. “But especially for these girls right now. I feel like they need Beyoncé.”

On Sunday, before an New York audience for Elliott Wilson’s CRWN series, Drake opened up on how his standout album track “Pound Cake” with Jay Z was inspired by the “Halo” singer.

“‘Pound Cake’ happened while I was writing for Beyoncé or working with Beyoncé. Not writing for, working with. I hate saying writing for ’cause she’s a phenomenal writer”, Drake explains.

Praising the Houston native, he added, “She has bars on bars.”

He continued, “I sent the song back to Jay, and that was when it almost became a Jay Z song. He’s such a good guy. He was just like, ‘Man, I gave my word.’

“Everybody around him was hype around the song,” added Drizzy. “We’re all so grateful to have Hov. I don’t know what I’d do without that guy sometimes. He’s full of gems, full of advice, and obviously one of the most talented people.”

In July it was reported the “Crazy in Love” singer had gone back to the drawing board with her upcoming album while her rep said she “continues” to work on a new set, so whether Drake’s co-write(s) or guest spot(s) make the eventual cut remains to be seen.

Drake also pulled yet another rabbit out of his hat at NYU revealing he wants to unleash a singing-only album at some point.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé and her acclaimed Mrs. Carter Show tour are currently wowing the masses in Latin America.

The 32-year-old played Mexico City’s Palacio De Los Deportes arena on Thursday and heads into her final South America show in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday.

The mother-of-one who is traveling with her 20-month old daughter Blue Ivy will then take a short break before resuming the Australasia leg of her tour on October 16.
