Martina Hingis Denies ‘Utterly Ridiculous’ Abuse Allegations

Reports that Martina Hingis beat and robbed her estranged husband are false and “ridiculous,” a source close to the tennis pro said of the tabloid tale.

Earlier this week, Martina Hingis‘ estranged husband Thibault Hutin ran to the tabloids complaining that the tennis star and a gang of others conspired to beat and scratch him, and steal his possessions.

Hutin told Blick that Hingis, her mother Melanie Molitor, and her Molitor’s partner came to his door.

According to Hutin, he was unable to physically defend himself against the electronics flinging trio, claiming that he is too chivalrous to strike a female — he blabbed to the tabloid:

“On Monday evening, I was in our shared apartment when the doorbell rang. In the course of a dispute, Martina and her mother Melanie Molitor pounced on me – beating and scratching me. My upbringing forbids me to beat women… I resisted every effort but Mario Widmer, the partner of Melanie, struck me in the head with a DVD player.”

Hutin also says he believes Hingis would have harmed him further — stopping short of explaining why she didn’t. He added:

“The policemen went back to the apartment with me and forced the three to surrender my valuables… They wanted to kill me. I’m shocked! I never thought it would go so far.”

The tennis star’s ex concludes:

“I’m really afraid. What will be next, a bullet?”

Tennis.com reports that Blick is known to pay for scintillating interviews, and adds that Molitor and Widmer are older than 60 and 70, respectively. But the site spoke to an unnamed source, who says that the athlete won’t even qualify the accusations with a response.

The anonymous pal tells the site:

“That is utterly ridiculous… Martina, as always, has chosen to take the high road and she is not going to speak anymore about it.”

Martina Hingis has also been accused of repeated infidelity by her estranged husband.
