Willie Nelson’s Toy Armadillo Caper, Country Star Pleads For Its Safe Return [Video]

Willie Nelson is currently in the hunt for a missing toy armadillo after it was stolen from the side of his stage.

The incident occurred last week on September 19 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. Aaron Foyle, Nelson’s monitor engineer, was the owner of the toy, which is dear to his heart.

Foyle was packing down the stage, alongside numerous other members of Nelson’s crew, when the robbery took place. CCTV footage clearly shows an unknown woman meander up to the toy armadillo, pick it up, and then walk away without a care in the world.

Grainy footage of the incident has now been released, and it clearly shows the woman stepping forward and stealing the adorably, soft, cuddly toy, which is called Ol’Dillo. You can watch it above.

Nelson has now taken to his Facebook page to spread the word about the kidnapped teddy bear.

He uploaded a post that read, “Someone stole Aaron’s Armadillo from the sound desk backstage on Sept 19 at the Capital Theater (149 Westchester Ave, Port Chester, NY 10573) Did you go to the show? Did you work the show? Help us find the WOMAN in this video who stole him.”

Users have since responded to the piece as they look to assist Nelson and his pal find the beloved toy. One commenter even noted, “We hang armadillo thieves in Texas.”

Unfortunately, not all of Nelson’s staff are singing off the same hymn sheet, as his publicist, Elaine Schock, was unaware of Aaron’s ordeal.

When asked about the event, she responded, “When you go to a Willie Nelson show the last thing you notice is an armadillo.”

Tom Bailey, the Capitol Theater’s general manager, confirmed that the robbery had taken place and added that various theater workers were now looking through videos in their attempt to identify her.
